Application
Hook spanners are used to drive small bearings onto a tapered journal or adapter sleeve and for dismounting small bearings on a withdrawal sleeve, both provided with the aid of a nut.
The spanners type B have a round
stud to engage the holes in the circumference of the KMTA nuts.

The spanners are made of high quality steel and have design based on
DIN 1810. The design of the spanner was optimised in order to get a  better
fit on the KMTA nuts. As a result one spanner fits a given nut size but may also be used for the next larger size provided the stud size is correct

Application
To dismount bearings and other machinery use components with an outside diameter less than 250 mm
(10 in). Maximum withdrawal force
8 tonnes (18,000 lbf).

Description
This puller kit consists of a hydraulic spindle with a three arm stand and three sets of arms. It has a self locking arm system which centres the arms and makes sure that the harder you pull, the harder the arm grip around the bearing will be.

Filled with grease, the hydraulic spindle makes it possible to apply high force with ease. All arms are blackened and have been zinc coated to protect them against corrosion. The TMHP 8 carries the TÜF/GS safety approval. As an alternative to the hydraulic spindle, the hydraulic ram TMHR 8 or hydraulic spindle TMHS 8 can be used.

Deep groove ball bearings are used in a
particularly wide variety of applications. They
are simple in design, non-separable, capable of
operating at high and even very high speeds,
and require little attention or maintenance in
service. These characteristics coupled with a
price advantage make deep groove ball
bearings the most popular of all rolling
bearings.
A variation of the Single Row Deep Groove
(SRDG) is the max type bearing, which is
discussed later in this chapter. There are also
several other ball bearing variants, which are
not covered in this course. Please refer to the
SKF catalog for details or contact your local
supplier.
Ball Bearing Capabilities
The angular contact ball bearing has unidirectional
load capability. For this reason, it is
usually mounted in pairs in a back-to-back or
face-to-face arrangement. The self-aligning ball
bearing’s dynamic alignment capability makes it
an indispensable type for applications where
separate housings are used, and significant
misalignment is present.

SKF single row deep groove ball bearings have
deep, uninterrupted raceways and a high
degree of conformity between the balls and
raceways. This enables them to carry axial
loads in both directions in addition to radial
loads, even at high speeds. Single row deep
groove ball bearings are suitable for a variety of
applications and are produced in a large
number of sizes and designs.
SRDGBBs accept radial, axial, and combined
loads. Their thrust load limit is about 25
percent of the rated radial load. SRDGBBs are

available in shielded and sealed designs for
contaminant exclusion. They accept only very
slight misalignment: ten minutes of arc (1/6th of

Single row deep groove ball bearings of the
basic design, i.e. open at both sides, are

basic design which are also produced as
shielded or sealed bearings may, for
manufacturing reasons, have recessed outer
ring shoulders to take the shields or seals.

According to the UK Sun newspaper, the 23-year-old is being sued for £100,000 (that would be just over $194,000 US dollars) by bosses of the pageant who claim she brought the competition into disrepute through her behavior.

According to the report, the lovely Miss Lloyd stands accused on two fronts. First, the damages claimed relate to suggestion that she broke the rules of the competition by posing for Playboy.

Second, bringing the contest into disrepute by the “secret relationship” she had by dating one of the competition’s judges, West Ham forward Teddy Sherringham. It is a relationship that Lloyd has always insisted started at the after-show party for the competition.

Here’s the kicker.  Reports from the UK claim it has since been revealed that she started her relationship with Sherringham before the competition ended.

Lloyd was stripped of her title in November after the accusations by the organizers.  At the time of the decision to remove her title, the organizers said: “Following recent claims in the press and magazines and the publicity given on the Playboy website for their next issue, we have sadly decided to strip Danielle Lloyd of her title as Miss Great Britain 2006 effective immediately.

“We are very sad that this action has been necessary and we wish her the best for the future.”

Great news at Macworld today. The Apple iPhone was finally released! The device is officially called the iPhone.

Looks very nice. Even nicer than what we expected. The device combines an iPod, a cell phone and internet connectivity (Wi-fi!!!). Google maps is also integrated in the product.

The interface: a touchscreen gives the user unlimited UI interface The runs on OS-X of course! There is an integrated version of Safari with tabs.

The new Apple cellphone, dubbed the iPhone, will come in two models with the high end version retailing for $449 and feature the following:

Of all the marketing tricks Apple CEO Steve Jobs has pulled off in three decades peddling computers, last week’s was the best. He made a wake-up call from a phone that doesn’t exist.

Jobs touted Apple’s prototype iPhone, due in June, as a music and video player, smartphone, and Internet device rolled into one. The message for people running business IT, and for the smartphone industry, didn’t come from Jobs, however. It was embedded in the euphoric reaction from would-be users. The message? People crave a much better mobile computing experience. IT departments will be on the hook to provide it.

The hell of it is, the upcoming iPhone isn’t likely to be the ticket, at least for businesses, even as it raises expectations. The iPhone’s drawbacks include a relatively slow data network, a closed OS X platform that will limit available applications, exclusivity to the Cingular network, and, at $500, a shockingly high price tag. One of the iPhone’s main strengths–a design that emphasizes music and video–may work against it on the job. “Providing a device like the iPhone to business users is like giving them a PlayStation,” says Justin Hectus, director of information at Keesal, Young & Logan, who outfits the law firm with Treos.

Yet it’s also true that consumer technologies like the iPhone drive innovation that IT pros must respond to. For instance, the iPhone’s large, 3.5-inch screen will pressure other smartphone vendors to follow, given the growing business demand to put more full-featured applications on mobile devices.

Whether IT departments embrace the iPhone or not, some employees will walk in the door with them. If they’re senior execs or stars of the sales team, IT will be called on to support the gadgets. “There’s a vibe around Apple,” says Credit Suisse analyst Robert Semple. “People want to be associated with it.” Cingular, the largest U.S. cellular provider, certainly wanted to, having spent two years quietly working with Apple on its phone.

Done right, the iPhone could give Apple (which dropped the “Computer” from its name last week) better footing in business technology environments. After all, the company sells laptops, desktop computers, servers, storage, and software for the enterprise, and its brand has never been stronger. But there’s no indication Apple will seize that opportunity. Apple’s dust-up with Cisco Systems over the iPhone moniker (Cisco owns the U.S. rights to the name and filed suit against Apple) brought evidence of that. According to Cisco general counsel Mark Chandler, the two companies failed to reach an agreement that would have given Apple permission to use “iPhone” in exchange for technical collaboration. Apple apparently wants to do things Apple’s way.

To be clear, Apple hasn’t forgotten devotees who use its products at work. At Macworld last week, products were demonstrated that make Mac computers a bit more practical for business use, including a new version of Microsoft Office for Macs and virtualization software that lets Windows run on Macs.

But Apple barely mentioned its next operating system upgrade, Mac OS 10.5, known as Leopard, that’s due this spring. The company said it will incorporate Boot Camp, which can partition a Mac to run Windows XP and Windows apps, when it releases Leopard–but that was it. No mention of possible quad-core Macs, either, which many anticipate now that Macs use Intel chips.

Apple takes care of its key education and creative industry customers, but overall it doesn’t make business sales a priority. Mac’s a bit player in mainstream business computing, with 2% of the desktop and 9% of the laptop markets, even including its education stronghold, IDC estimates. Apple’s new Xserve, equipped with two Intel Xeon dual-core processors and running Mac OS X, shipped in November. While popular with researchers, the servers account for only a minute share of the Unix server market.

Mac tools like an updated Office suite from Microsoft and virtualization software from VMware make Apple a more viable business option. Still, “they aren’t going to target the business market,” Semple says. “They’re going to let businesses use them if they want to.” Apple didn’t make executives available for this article.

What function might the iPhone do so spectacularly well that businesses can’t pass it up? The dominant U.S. smartphone–Research In Motion’s BlackBerry, with more than 50% market share–seized its place with wireless push e-mail. It wasn’t so long ago that execs plunked down more than $400 for the honor of being hounded wherever they go. (BlackBerry prices now start around $200.)

As it states in the Academy’s guidelines, it is customary for up to two people to be credited as writers of any given song, but under special circumstances, if it is found that the there were more than two equal contributors, an exception could be made. The Academy made the exception for Preven and Cutler, but not for our girl B.

No word as to why Beyonce didn’t make the cut.

Nominations will be announced on the January 23.

It’s official: Beyoncé, Gnarls Barkley, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform at the 49th Annual GRAMMY Awards on February 11.

Rihanna (see photos), Pink, Terrence Howard and Samuel L. Jackson are among presenters.

You can bet Beyoncé (see photos, bio) is hoping for “Déjà Vu”; the last time she performed live at the GRAMMYS (a duet with Prince (see bio) in 2004), she took home five awards.

This time around, the nine-time GRAMMY Award winner has four nods: Best Female R&B Vocal Performance (”Ring the Alarm”), Best Contemporary R&B Album (B’Day), Best R&B Song (”Déjà Vu”) and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration (”Déjà Vu”) with Jay-Z (see bio). You can see the full list of nominees here.

Gnarls Barkley (see bio) is up for four Grammys: Record of the Year and Best Urban Alternative Performance (”Crazy”), plus Album of the Year and Best Alternative Music Album for St. Elsewhere.

GRAMMY winners the Red Hot Chili Peppers (see bio) earned six nominations: Album of the Year, Best Rock Album, and Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package for Stadium Arcadium; and Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal, Best Rock Song, and Best Short Form Music Video for “Dani California”.

The 49th GRAMMY Awards will take place live on Sunday, Feb. 11, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast by CBS Television Network at 8 p.m. (ET/PT). Additional performers, presenters and special segments will be announced soon.

David Beckham’s focus will be on the Los Angeles pitch, not the Hollywood glitz. Forgetting for the moment that Beckham’s wife, Victoria, is a former Spice Girl, that they rank Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes among their best friends, and that one of Los Angeles’ premier talent agencies negotiated his new contract with the MLS’ Galaxy, Beckham is trying to concentrate on soccer.

“I’m coming there not to be a superstar,” the 31-year-old Beckham said Friday via satellite from Madrid, Spain. “I’m coming there to be part of the team, to work hard and to hopefully win things.

“With me, it’s about football. I’m coming there to make a difference. I’m coming there to play football.”

It’s all about football in Spain, too. Coach Fabio Capello said Saturday that Beckham will not play again for the Real Madrid team at which the English star remains under contract until June 30.

“He is not going to play any more. He will practice, but he is not going to play,” Capello said at a news conference.

Reporters were not allowed to pose questions during Friday’s satellite session. Instead, a moderator did the asking.

Dressed in a black suit with white shirt and black tie, Beckham said he hopes to work with American youngsters and keep them interested in soccer when they are finished with youth leagues.

He’s joining a so-so team in Major League Soccer, considered sort of bush league by fans in the more fervent soccer countries around the world.

“I’m not saying me coming over to the States is going to make soccer the biggest sport in America. That would be difficult to achieve,” Beckham said. “Baseball, basketball, American football, they’ve been around.

“But I wouldn’t be doing this if I didn’t think I could make a difference.”

Tim Leiweke of AEG, the sports and entertainment company that runs the Galaxy, believes Beckham can make a huge difference.

“Certainly, he will bring an audience, a fan base and an intensity to our sport that we’ve never had,” Leiweke said

Capello revealed: “Beckham will train with the team but he won’t play.”

“He has always been a great professional, but a player who has such an important contract with another club, we cannot count on him,” added the Italian tactician.

Former England captain Beckham, 31, has agreed a five-year contract with the Galaxy worth around £128 million.

Capello added: “The fact he wanted to go was down to him, not to me.”

The Real coach’s response to Beckham’s summer transfer may even prompt Galaxy to take the player to California in time for the start of the MLS season in April.

When asked if Beckham might leave the Bernabeu before his contract expires, Capello replied: “You will have to ask Beckham that question.”

Capello started with Beckham in his side just five times in La Liga this season, though the former Manchester United winger has come off the bench several times

A Brazilian court has re-instated the popular YouTube website after banning people from viewing it.

The saga erupted when Daniela Cicarelli, a model and ex-wife of Real Madrid’s Ronaldo, sued YouTube after a video of her apparently having sex with her boyfriend in the sea in Spain was posted on the site.

Judge Enio Santarelli Zulianio blocked internet service providers (ISPs) from allowing people to access the website.

But the latest twist has seen Judge Zulianio reverse his decision but only if YouTube permanently removed the video in question.

Cicarelli and boyfriend Tato Malzoni had filed to force YouTube to take the video down and demanded £60,000 in damages for each day the video remained online.

The exposure this issue’s been getting is just ridiculous. Surely people have more important things to think about, like Somalia and the execution of Saddam Hussein.

Ubisoft has announced that PS3 be seeing Enchanted Arms, which was previously an Xbox 360 exclusive, on retail shelves in March. And even better news is that the title will be taking advantage of the motion sensitivity of the SIXAXIS controller.
